You can browse and build a PC on Nerdy Deals without an account. Our PC builder and comparison tools keep selections in your browser or shared URLs.

Cookies

Our browsing tools do not require a visitor account cookie. Staff sign-in creates an httpOnly session cookie when staff sign in at /admin — it authenticates staff-only pages and is never set for ordinary visitors.

Outbound click logging

When you follow a retailer link through our /go redirect, we log the click anonymously: the product’s ASIN, the type of page you clicked from (e.g. product, category, search), and a timestamp. This helps us understand which products interest visitors. We do not log your IP address, user agent, or any other identifier, and there is nothing in this log that ties a click back to a particular visitor or session. Direct BOSGAME links do not pass through this click log.

Hosting

Nerdy Deals is hosted on Vercel. Like most hosting providers, Vercel may keep standard server logs (e.g. for security and reliability) as part of operating its infrastructure.

Amazon links

Links to Amazon on this site include our Associates tag, which is how we earn a commission on qualifying purchases (see our affiliate disclosure). Once you land on amazon.com, Amazon sets its own cookies and handles your data under its own policy — see Amazon’s Privacy Notice for details. We have no visibility into what happens on Amazon’s side of that link.

PC builder

The build a PC tool encodes your rig name and part selections in the page’s URL. That URL is transmitted when you request the page and may appear in standard hosting logs. Reloading or sharing it restores the loadout. We do not create server-side saved-build accounts.

Product comparison

We save only selected product slugs in your browser’s sessionStorage under nerdy-deals:compare:v1. This keeps your selection during navigation and reloads in the current tab, subject to browser restoration. It is not permanent or cross-device storage. If storage is unavailable, comparison still works in memory and through shared URLs. Comparison URLs contain the selected slugs and are transmitted when you request or share a page. Our comparison storage is separate from our own outbound click log.

Impact affiliate tracking

We load an Impact affiliate script to convert eligible merchant links into affiliate links and record impressions. Your browser connects to Impact to load and run this script. This tracking is separate from our own outbound click log described above.
